At Free River Studios, we believe in transparent pricing that helps you plan your recording project effectively. We've structured our rates to provide professional quality recording while remaining accessible to independent artists.

Recording Sessions

Weekend Sessions - $600

Our eight-hour weekend sessions give you the time and space needed to capture your best performance. These sessions work especially well for full band recording, where setup time and group chemistry are important. Most bands complete two to three songs in a weekend session, though this varies depending on the complexity of your music and how well prepared you are.

Weekend sessions include eight full hours of studio time with dedicated setup time, multiple takes to capture your best performance, and end-of-day review and planning.

Weeknight Sessions - $300

Our four-hour weeknight sessions (Monday-Thursday, 6-11 PM) are perfect for focused recording work. Many bands book these sessions for vocals and overdubs after their main weekend tracking. These sessions also work well for solo artists or small ensembles who can set up quickly.

Hourly Recording - $80

Sometimes you just need an hour or two to finish a project. Our hourly rate requires a one-hour minimum booking and works best for final overdubs, quick vocal fixes, single instrument tracking, and simple acoustic recordings.

Mixing and Mastering

Mixing - $350 per song

Professional mixing with revisions and consultation included. Initial mixes are typically ready within a week of your recording session. You'll have time to listen and provide feedback, and we include revision rounds to ensure we achieve your vision.

Mastering - $150 per song

Final polish for your mixed tracks, optimized for streaming and distribution. Professional mastering ensures consistent sound across all platforms.

Additional revisions beyond included scope: $80/hour.

Monthly Rehearsal Membership - $100

Your guaranteed weekly rehearsal slot

  • 5-hour weekly time slot (same day/time each week)
  • Professional rehearsal space with basic backline
  • Priority booking for recording sessions
  • Coffee, water, and snacks provided

Single Song

  • One weeknight session: $300
  • Mixing: $350
  • Mastering: $150
  • Total: $800

Three-Song EP

  • One weekend session: $600
  • One weeknight session for overdubs: $300
  • Mixing (3 songs): $1,050
  • Mastering (3 songs): $450
  • Total: $2,400

Full Album (10 songs)

  • Four weekend sessions: $2,400
  • Two weeknight sessions for overdubs: $600
  • Mixing (10 songs): $3,500
  • Mastering (10 songs): $1,500
  • Total: $8,000

Payment and Policies

Standard Terms:

  • 50% deposit to secure your booking
  • Remaining balance due at session completion
  • Payment plans available for projects over $600

Cancellation Policy:

  • More than 48 hours notice: Full refund or reschedule
  • 24-48 hours notice: Deposit becomes studio credit
  • Less than 24 hours notice: Deposit is non-refundable

Student and Non-Profit Discount: 10% off any session with valid ID
